CHAUSEY

A Group of 365 French islets which lie 7 miles (21 kilometres ) to the west of Granville. Only I is inhabited - Grand Ile - and during the summer months vast numbers of excurnists visit to explore and fish.

A year round service is maintained from Granville and in the summer day excursions operate from Saint Malo and Dinard.

The passenger landing places on Grand Ile, the slipway in the middle of the picture, and the later landing stage at the bottom shows its advantage in still having water around it. In the olden days the vessels used to anchor in the Sound and transport their passengers ashore in dories.
