AGRICULTURE & FISHERIES DEPARTMENT
The Agriculture Committee took over responsibility for the Island’s fisheries from the Harbours & Airport Committee on January 1 1977.
The following year a 14’ dory capable of 35 knots was purchased for inspection purposes, being replaced in 1987 by the small work boat HOWARD DAVIS.
As the workload increased she was replaced by a larger vessel which was given the same name, and the smaller vessel passed to the States Public Works Dept. She was renamed SPS and used for a couple of summers to take staff members who were repairing the Elizabeth Castle breakwater.
In March 1997 the territorial waters around Jersey were extended from thee to five mile, and to help police this area a new larger vessel NORMAN LE BROCQ was purchased.
At the end of July 2020 the fast ribcraft ECREHOU joined the Department to help patrol the Islands outlying reefs and waters due to the Corvid regulations and upcoming changing fishing regulations due to the UK leaving the EU.

Operates a 4.7m Searider RIB with 75hp outboard.
Designer Alistair Cameron of Carmac Small Craft Designs.
1996 December. States approve purchase of vessel at a cost of £550,000.
1997 4 December. Vessel named in Cowes
1997 20 December. J.E.P. Write up of vessel arriving in Jersey. Vessel
purchased due to extension of territorial water from three to
five miles in March. 1997. Delivery as taken earlier this month.
1998 7 February. Vessel named by Mrs. Le Brocq outside the Maritime
Museum.
2009 Re-
2012 3 June. The vessel took part in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Thames
Pagent in London.
