The new outer port of Dilette was built in the early 1990’s, and Emeraude Lines commenced a trial passenger service to the Channel Islands in April 1996. But this gave a much longer passage time and road access to the port

Cancale is at the tip of the Bay of Mont Saint Michel, and extensive oyster beds stretch out into the bay. The pictures below shows the scene at low water during a large spring tide.
